The Master S Dojo Selling And Extreme Predictions

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another fantastic edition of The Masters Dojo!! In todays issue, I will be discussing why I think WWE (and all of professional wrestling, for that matter) sells, plus my early predictions for One Night Stand (oh excuse me, Extreme Rules). Lets get it started.

WWE (and back when it was WWF) has always had substantial popularity. People always tune into RAW, Smackdown and ECW (and now Superstars) and many people buy the Pay Per Views. However, personalized bobblehead, recently, ratings have begun to dip. Why is this? Well, customized bobbleheads, lets look at what sells in the Pro Wrestling business. One thing (as a colleague of mine wrote) is death. As strange as that sounds, custom bobbleheads, its true. Just think about the Undertaker. He is a legend. Hes held many titles and has been with WWF/E for 20 years (it will be 20 years at the 2009 Survivor Series). In this long period, he has innovated many match types, like Hell in a Cell, Casket and Buried Alive. Now, in a Buried Alive match, arent you supposed to be dead and buried forever, like Kane said after he buried Undertaker at Survivor Series 2003. However, a few months later, Undertaker returned and fought Kane at WrestleMania XX. Hes been locked into caskets many times as well, customize bobblehead, several of which have been subsequently lit on fire. Would this make it seem like hes dead and gone? Well people tune in to see Undertaker return from the dead, to bring hell to wrestlers. Hes been doing it for a long, long time and people still love to see it (including me). Another thing that sells is sex (which this colleague also mentioned in his writing). This also sounds odd, that people turn on their TV to see this, but they do. Think back a few years, to Edge and Lita. To celebrate a victory, Edge and Lita had sex in the middle of the ring (in a bed, of course). It was the highest rated RAW segment in years, drawing in a 5.2 rating. Edge is a superstar who prides himself on being sexualthe reason he is the Rated R superstar. However, will he be the Rated R superstar much longer? Ill get to that later.

Something else that sells is violence. Back during the storied Attitude Era, violence was a big thing. During this period,Debit Card Loans Financial Solution At Hand, the Hardcore Championship was introduced. Stone Cold Steve Austin invaded Brian Pillmans property and brutally took out two of his friends. Hell in a Cell was introduced, which was and is an extremely violent match. In the first Hell in a Cell, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels were both bloodied and battered (especially Michaels) before Kane came and Tombstoned the Undertaker. The in the 3rd Hell in a Cell match (Undertaker vs. Mankind) Undertaker threw Mankind off of the cell, personalized bobblehead, Chokeslammed him through the cell on to the mat (which actually knocked him out temporarily) and Chokeslammed him onto a pile of thumbtacks. In the most recent Hell in a Cell they competitors were all over the arena (well, on the announce tables and outside the ring). Hell in a Cell isnt it though. Edges hardcore finisher is the con chair to (sandwiching the opponents head through 2 chairs). Mick Foley has made a career out of being hardcore. This is what makes people want to watch.

The other thing that makes people want to tune in is attitude. This was exemplified in the aforementioned Attitude Era (obviously). This was when WWF had its biggest ratings. Their war with the now defunct (and WWE owned) WCW brought in massive viewers. They had 7.0+ ratings all the time. WWF had some great superstars and of course, customized bobbleheads, some great attitude!! D Generation X was a major part of this. DX was edgy and funny. They cut funny promos, made remarks about anything and everything, and had fun. An example would be their presidential speech, when HBK and Triple H talked about what they would not do on RAW, and answered questions about a scandal. Classic. Also, we saw the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin, personalized bobbleheads, The Rock, Chris Jericho, and others. This was a key time in WWF/Es history.

But, what about now? After the Monday Night Wars, The Attitude Era, etc.,custom bobblehead, ratings started to go down, and now we are seeing ratings we havent seen in a long time. Superstars is under 1.0, ECW is barely above 1.0, Smackdown is barely at 2.0 and even RAW is just above 3.0. I really think this can be attributed to WWE wanting to become more family friendly. From now on, there is no more blood, customize bobblehead, no more sex (with the exception of comedic skits). I would assume that swearing will be rarely used anymore. It isnt just that WWE is becoming PG; they are changing the format of their programming, by removing what people want to watch. Now people are going to argue Dont get worked up over a warning, it isnt a big deal. Well, when the show becomes not as much fun, it is a big deal. But thats just my opinion.

Alright then, its time for me to give you my picks for WWE One Night Stand (Extreme Rules). The first match Ill go over is the Intercontinental Title No Holds Barred Match between Chris Jericho and champion Rey Mysterio. At Judgment Day,Online Advertising- Spreading Far & Wide!, these two had a really well fought, entertaining match. I think this one will be the same, but with a different result. Jericho will do/use anything to win. I think that the Ultimate Underdog wont be able to pull this one out, and Jericho will become the first 9 time Intercontinental Champion. Another match on the card is John Cena vs. The Big Show in a submission match. This time, custom bobblehead, John Cena cant use a miraculous FU to get the victory; hell have to use the STFU. Big Show wont be able to use the Knockout Punch or the Chokeslam; hell have to use his new Camel Clutch (or another submission maneuver). Cena isnt going to win. He isnt going to be able to apply the STFU, and Big Show will do something to win. No miracle finish for Cena this time. Big Show is too big and too strong, and we will leave the show victorious.

Possibly the strangest match of the night will be Vickie Guerrero vs. Santina Marella in a Hog Pen match. I really dont know who to pick in this match. I think that Chavo will come to help Vickie, but will fail in his attempt. Santina will win and once again become Ms. WrestleMania. In a less ridiculous match, Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk will face Umaga in a Samoan Strap Match. I dont know how I can not pick Umaga; the man is a beast!! I think that CM Punk will give it a valiant effort, but will end up losing the match. However, I think he will win his other match, if you catch my drift.

The match that I most want to be a success is Tommy Dreamer vs. Jack Swagger vs. the champion,., Christian in the Triple Threat Hardcore match for the ECW Title. At the ECW PPV (well, it was originally an ECW PPV), I hope that we see the only remaining ECW Original win the title. He deserves it. He can still be hardcore. And you know, it wouldnt hurt to see some help from a couple guys who also were ECW Originals *Cough Rob Van Dam cough*. My pick is Tommy Dreamer to become ECW Champion, and not retire. Another title match is Batista vs. Randy Orton in a Steel Cage match for the WWE Championship. There is no Disqualification, so the champ cant smack the referee in the face. This was a tough match for me to predict. Batista is very strong, but Orton and his RKO are quick. I think,Acclaimed Omega Replica Watches Swiss Movement For Adeptness Humans, however, that I am picking Randy Orton to win. I think that hell find a way to escape the cage and retain his title. Remember the Steel Cage match on RAW between CM Punk and Jericho a few months back? When Jericho won when he fell out of the door? I think something interesting or coincidental is going to happen, and that is how hell win. Im picking Randy Orton to beat The Animal and retain the WWE Championship.

In the other World Title match, Jeff Hardy will take on World Heavyweight Champion Edge in a Ladder Match. This was even harder for me to pick than the WWE Title match, because these guys are both ladder specialists. At first, I thought Jeff isnt going to get the title, he is always close, but has only gotten the world title once in many tries, but then I think This feud will really progress if Hardy wins. In the end, I picked Jeff Hardy to win. Why? Because this time, I think that he is going to take a big risk, and actually succeed with either his flying legdrop or a Swanton Bomb. Ladies and Gentlemen,Cricket Is A Sport Of Patience, your winner and new World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Hardy!! But wait, whats that music? Its CM Punk!! Im thinking that at One Night Stand/Extreme Rules, personalized bobbleheads, CM Punk is finally going to cash in. Jeff will be really worn down from a tough match, and CM Punk will take advantage, just like Edge did on Cena back in late 2005. So after, Punk cashes in, he will become World Heavyweight Champion.

Well ladies and gentlemen, thank you for reading another edition of The Masters Dojo. Remember to tune in next week when we get into another very exciting topic. Until next time, I am The Master of Puppets, the dojo is closed and I AM OUT!!
